We Think Green
The built environment has a major impact on our health, economy and natural environment. In the United States, buildings account for 65% of electricity consumption, 30% of raw materials use, 30-40% of greenhouse gas emissions, and 12% of potable water consumption. Those of us in the development industry have a unique opportunity to help reduce these numbers and in the process improve overall quality of life.
We Think Green . . .
Green Power: We purchase 100% of our electricity from clean, green wind power
Waste Reduction & Recycling: We use electronic documents as much as possible and recycle paper, aluminum, plastic and glass
Strategic Consumption: We purchase eco-friendly goods
Reduced Energy Consumption: A recent energy audit helped us reduce our energy consumption by 15% (and counting)
Memberships: We are members of EcoBroker, Co-op America, the United States Green Building Council and Savannah Green Source.
Community: We are active in a number of community organizations including the Savannah Chapter of the USGBC, the Flannery O’Connor Foundation, the Telfair Museum of Art and the Davenport House
Advocacy: In addition to our community involvement and our continuing support of the green building practitioners of the region, Judge Realty also supports policy that would enable a curbside recycling program in Savannah
